The word Nepal comes from the age-old name « Nyaya pal » which means a place where both ruler and subjects diligently followed all rules and regulations inscribed in the sacred laws.

Nepal is crowned by the Himalayas, the highest mountains in the world. She has an extremely intriguing culture which is passed on orally through generations across centuries. Fantastic landscape, impressive scenic views, evocative palaces and museums, sacred religious places, thrilling adventure activities, Nepal has it all. Known as the Land of Everest, the Ultimate Shangrilla, Nepal is a developing country in her own pace with wide opening to travellers of late. To facilitate and increase the flow of visitors into Nepal, the government has declared 2020 as Visit Nepal Year.

In correspondence to this call by the government to introduce Nepal and her multi-faceted beauty, we have also planned to invite the world’s oldest traditions under the theme of Nepal and the World Shamanic Summit 2020, Nepal. It is the first historic gathering of cultures of the world in one circle, thus creating a bond of relationships and unity amongst all the world traditions.

Some practical pieces of information for visitors :

Passport

Your passport must have a minimum validity of 6 months on your arrival in Nepal. Please make some photocopies and keep with you, in your checked-in bag, etc.

Pictures: Please bring with you at least four passport size pictures.

Visa

A a tourist visa can be obtained on arrival in Kathmandu Airport or any of the nearest Nepali Embassy or consulate OR international check-points bordering with India and TAR, China.

Trekking in Nepal

Trekking is by far one of Nepal’s most popular attractions bringing over 200,000 people each year. If you are new to trekking or not very experienced stick to what is known as « Tea House Trekking ». Trekkers using this method take advantage of tea houses along well-travelled paths. These houses are lodges that offer showers, rooms, beer, and food. In this the trip, Kalingchock is the highest point reached 3800 meters/12468 feet.

Things to remember :

Please consult your medical doctor on health precautions and vaccinations though nothing is obligatory for Nepal.

Some essential items to consider for your trip to Nepal :

·Medical Supplies – Be sure to bring medical supplies with you, especially anti-diarrheal and anti-dehydration medicines. And if you have any health issues, do bring enough to cover your sojourn time in Nepal.

Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bhairawa, Biratnagar, Nepalgunj and Dhangadi have international standard hospitals.

The the organization decides to accommodate you on the following properties in the rooms based on your request: single, twin and double sharing room basis.

All the hotels have attached bathrooms, buffet breakfast, daily room cleaning services, safety boxes, wi-fi services (if you use), room telephone connections, 24 hours running hot and cold water, etc.

All the properties are within 3-4 minutes of walking distance. Most of the dinners will be served in Ankur Garden Restaurant and other selected restaurants in the Thamel area. All the hotels are located in Thamel Area, Kathmandu.

Money

You may bring cash and get exchanged in the banks or authorized money exchange booths. There are ATMs also to withdraw money (please do not count 100% of them either due to technical problems or energy blackouts). All major credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, etc. But it is always good to have cash with you.
